A journey around the world, 20 years in the health & wellness space, over 10 years in chiropractic and a return home to Calgary, where it all began.

After nearly two decades living overseas, over a decade in chiropractic practice and a whole lot of life lived in between, I’ve returned “home” to Calgary, and I’m bringing everything I’ve learned along the way with me.

A little about me, Dr. Kayli, Holistic Chiropractor, Calgary.

Hello, I’m Dr. Kayli! I’m a holistic chiropractor, wellness advocate, creative soul, intuitive, traveller and lifelong believer in the incredible capacity of the human body and human experience.

My journey in the health and wellness space began nearly two decades ago, right here in Calgary, where I studied Kinesiology at the University of Calgary and worked as a Chiropractic Assistant. From there, life took me across the world to Australia on a university exchange, which eventually led me to New Zealand to study chiropractic.

After graduating from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in 2016, I took a leap of faith and moved back to Australia to practice. I had missed the bright colours, hot days and long beaches, and something about Australia was calling me back. I spent the next decade caring for newborns, children, families, pregnant women, athletes, tradies and people of all ages and stages of life across the Gold Coast and Byron Bay region as a holistic chiropractor.

I began as an associate before eventually taking another leap and building practices of my own.

Nature’s Way Chiropractic was my first practice, located beachside on the Gold Coast near the Queensland and New South Wales border. I loved being so close to the ocean and would often spend my lunch breaks taking in the ocean air. The practice had only been open for a year when COVID hit, and somehow, during such a strange and challenging time, it grew beyond what I could have imagined. Nature’s Way became a place of connection and care for our community, particularly as we navigated the unique realities of “border life” living between Queensland and New South Wales.

Eventually, I had enough of border life.  Some very powerful words came through me at the time, and I knew I was ready for change.  So, I took another big leap of faith and sold Nature’s Way to a dear colleague, who has continued to grow the practice and is still serving up adjustments to the community today.

That leap landed me an hour and a half south of the Gold Coast, in the beautiful Byron Bay region, and there Wildflower Wellness Studio was born.  I purchased a small practice base from a retiring chiropractor, and the whole thing felt like it was simply meant to be.  Within five days, I had bought one practice and sold another, contracts signed, and just like that, life was taking me somewhere new, again.

Wildflower was named after a roadside flower stall and the maverick energy that was very much alive in me at the time.  It represented having the courage to create change in my own life, trust where I was being led and build something that felt deeply aligned with who I was and who I was becoming.

And there I went, from border life to flood life.

Just six months into caring for the community of Alstonville, catastrophic floods devastated the Northern Rivers. Once again, I found myself caring for people as they moved through an enormous life event, and over the years I began to understand that perhaps I had been placed in these communities for a reason.

Those experiences humbled me deeply. They taught me so much about the human experience, both personally and professionally, and gave me skills, knowledge and strength that extend far beyond the technical side of chiropractic.

More than anything, they taught me how to care for people as people.

I served the Alstonville community for four beautiful years, until it was time for the biggest leap yet. I sold Wildflower to the right chiropractors and decided to come home, to Canada.

Coming home, to Canada, to share Chiropractic Care to Calgary.

It was time for the new book, not simply another chapter.

After nearly two decades away, I came home to Canada. Family and the mountains were calling me home, and I just knew it was time.

I landed on the West Coast first and gave myself some time to recalibrate to Canada and everything that comes with moving countries and changing nearly every aspect of your life. On the shortest days of the year, when it was dark by 4:30 pm and I was walking in the rain, I had a very real moment of wondering if I had made the right choice. There was a lot I had to face to get to where I am right now, writing these words.

I had taken this enormous leap of faith to come back to Canada and, despite having practiced for a decade, I couldn’t even be a chiropractor here yet. Being a chiropractor is such a huge part of me, and suddenly I couldn’t do it. Literally everything had changed.

I found joy, lightness and beauty in the moments with my family. The laughter of the little ones and creating memories with them became my light. A snowboarding trip back to Nelson, BC, where I grew up, followed by a road trip through the Canadian Rockies to Calgary, landed me back in Canada and back in my heart. As my nervous system began to settle from the enormity of the change, things slowly started to reveal themselves.

And then I set my sights on something that had been waiting in the wings for years: the Canadian Chiropractic Board Exams. After a decade in practice and away from formal education, I had my work cut out for me, along with the pressure of knowing just how much was riding on the exams. I knew that if I failed, my path would be a flight back to Australia.

And...I passed!

The relief was enormous. A weight lifted that I hadn’t fully realized was taking up so much space and energy, and suddenly I felt like me again as I gained my registration and could finally call myself Dr. Kayli, Chiropractor, here in Canada.

Calgary was a conscious decision for me, both personally and professionally, and I couldn’t be more excited about where I’ve landed. Coming back to the city where my chiropractic journey first began feels nostalgic, completely new and exciting all at once. The city has changed, I have changed, and yet so much still feels familiar. There is something pretty special about bringing a world of experience back to the place where it all began, and I’ve found the perfect space to share my unique approach to holistic chiropractic care with Calgary.

Find me, Dr. Kayli, in Inglewood, Calgary.

Key for Loft YYC, the new home to Dr. Kayli and her holistic chiropractic services.

You’ll find me practicing at Loft YYC in Inglewood, surrounded by a beautiful community of health and wellness practitioners. My approach to chiropractic is personal, thoughtful and holistic. I genuinely care about the person in front of me, where you’ve been, where you are now and where you want to go.

Every body is unique, and every person deserves to be approached with presence and consideration for their own journey through life and how that journey has impacted their nervous system, physical body, emotional wellbeing and who they are as a whole. This is also why I choose to offer longer appointment times. I want to have the time and space to listen, understand and truly care for the person in front of me.

So, Calgary, Inglewood and beyond, welcome to me as me.

Simply, yet profoundly, Dr. Kayli, Holistic Chiropractor.

I look forward to meeting all those who will become part of the many chapters this new book has yet to hold. I hope to become a trusted name for you and your loved ones, to become part of the Inglewood community and Calgary as a whole, and to continue advocating for great health and wellness for the people of this city and beyond.

Calgary, I’m home.

Warmly, Dr. Kayli
